Sunday sewing.

Yesterday, I finally got down to a sewing project I've had waiting -- a new fleece jacket. And finished it just in time for spring weather, when it's warm enough for a lighter jacket like this!





The fleece is a darker gray (and less velvety) than it looks in the photo (the wonders of flash). The trim is a blue and gold floral pattern on a black background; the narrow trim is black. The pattern is Simplicity 4051.

I'm rather pleased. There are a few stitching glitches, but not too likely to be noticed by anyone who isn't me. :) I should have made it a size smaller, though; it's pretty big on me.

Gorgeous! When you said "fleece jacket," I was thinking like a track warmup or something. This looks wonderful and far more sophisticated than I imagined. I've got a cloak in a similar trim... you've got good taste, woman!

Simplicity 4051 -- one of their "Khaliyah Ali" (sp) series for plus sizes. The pattern has a couple of styles of jacket and a vest, designed for either fleece or shearling sorts of fabrics.
