Song lyric du jour.

Do you ever run into a song lyric that just grabs you, even if you're not entirely sure what it means?

Mine, today, is "She fills up every corner like she's born in black and white."

Oh, once or twice. Once or twice.

When I was an undergraduate I developed an obsessive fascination with the Talking Heads. None of their lyrics make any sense. It's either intentional dada or just gibberish meant to sound good with the music.

That didn't stop me from becoming excessively fond of lines like "I'm wearing fur pajamas. I ate a hot potato" or "somewhere in South Carolina, gravity don't mean a thing."

Your lyric, on the other hand, sounds like it actually does have a meaning, but for the life of me, I have no idea what it might be.

"She fills up every corner like she's born in black and white"? Sounds like a song about Ellen, Katherine, Stella, me, etc.

Awesome interpretation!

Ah, see, I'm dense. I'm aware of Katherine through her college roommate, my wife, the former Carole Stoops. And I know about crossword fiendery, but I don't automatically think in those terms.

OK.

I'm curious enough about it now that I'll have to see if I can find a copy somewhere. I listen to live radio somewhere between .01 and .5 seconds per week so I won't have heard it already.
