The pursuit of abecedary continues.

[livejournal.com profile] tahnan found this reference to abecedary as a plant. Next question: what the heck is the isle of Fernalus, and can I find any reference to "children's grass"?

Wow, I'm staggered. I would have put a small amount of money on there being no plant called abecedary....

Rest assured I've had less luck with the abatina.

Yes, and there's clearly a lot of copying from one list to another. But this actually does refer to a plant, though one that sounds at least quasi-mythical....

The first thing that comes to mind for "children's grass" is that it's a folk name for one of the many, many plants that are indicated for use in diseases peculiar to children--colic, etc. I'll check my herbal medicine book and get back to you, but googling "herbal remedies children" might get you something in the meantime.
