Seamstress ponderings.

So, I have this dress. I call it my diva dress, because I got it for the one vocal recital I ever did. It's two pieces from Peggy Lutz -- a "Juliet" dress in dark green Lycra stretch velvet and a long kimono (no satin trim) in dark green "sparkle Slither" fabric.

I've outshrunk them now; they're noticeably too big on me. But it seems an incredible waste to get rid of them, as they were pretty expensive and are good material.

I think I want to get someone to make something else out of them for me. Green velvet skirt and sparkly top? I don't know. Anyone have recommendations of what to do and/or who to have do it?

I think the velvet skirt and sparkly top sounds like it'd look great on you. I don't have any dressmaker recommendations, though. ([livejournal.com profile] volare told me she makes Renaissance clothes, and I know she's a superb artist, but I don't know if that's what you want or if she's accepting commissions right now.)
