State of the Kath.

Well, yesterday was annoying. My work computer refused to start up in the morning, and had to be carted off to Tech Support Land. Apparently it was so dead they had to replace it. Mercifully, they were able to get my files off it first. So I have a replacement this morning, and life is back in order.

In other news, Patience is occasionally trying my patience, but is making reasonable progress. Our women's chorus do a very funny job with "thinking of nothing at all."

And -- well, I've been keeping this quiet so far, but I will recommend that everyone check out the "City Weekly" section of the Boston Sunday Globe on March 19.

Quick things.

Things I want:

• A cat. This is an idea that has lodged itself in my head and won't get out, even though I'm in a no-pets apartment.
  
• A car. Renting's fine, but there are times it'd be nice to just have one when I needed it, without the hassle.
  
• A nap.

• A tenor, rather urgently. One of ours had to drop out.
