Must be phantom limb syndrome. I feel like that sometimes after taking off my baseball cap.
At the end of every school year, I had to turn in my school keys. For ten weeks every summer, I felt naked, because I was only carrying two keychains instead of three. It actually caused a certain amount of anxiety when I couldn't find that school keychain sometimes, only to then remember that it was locked up somewhere in the school until late August.
