So, that genealogy meme has gotten me looking through my genealogy files and poking around on the Web again. One of the many things I love about doing genealogy is the names you run across.

All of these names are from the extraordinary Cemeteries of Chesterfield site, a true labor of love in which someone is trying to photograph all the stones in all the cemeteries in the western Massachusetts town of Chesterfield (where some of my ancestors lived).

Silence Buck
Sheldon Augustus Clapp
Vashti Cole
Gathelus Cowing
Dimis Dwight Damon
Jotham Drake
Sophronia Macomber Healy (and Sophronia Witherell Rhoades)
Deliverance Higgins
Violet Merrifield Klages
Reino Alriki Liimataimen (along with Claire Mae, Don Caroll, and Louise Herrick -- look, [livejournal.com profile] davehogg, I found you some Finns!)
Alethea Meacham
Achsah Pittsinger
Wealthy Pomeroy (the top of whose headstone says GRANDMA)
Electa Thayer Stebbins
Orca Willard
Julia Elder Mantaville Leonard Hayden Parsons
Theodamia Cushman Knight
Theodocia Knox Utley
Temperance James
And my very own great-great-great-great-great-grandmother (I think that's the right number of generations), Bricea Dumbolton.

I swear, these are stories just waiting to happen!

Oh, and I've also discovered I'm very distantly related to the poet William Cullen Bryant.

I haven't particularly been into this whole "Friday Five" thing, but far be it from me to ignore a genealogy one!
