(And won't that title confuse people?)

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] thomasfreund, I now have a plastic Yamaha alto recorder to go with my nice wooden one. Even before I got it, I'd started playing the other one a lot more, to get ready for something that looks like it'll be happening at the next Legends event. I haven't played the recorder this much since about junior high. My lips are tired from it, but it sure is fun. And I might even sound decent by the time the event gets here.

In other news, I have failed to do much of anything this weekend, except getting my hair cut. I should really do some Enigma work, but I'm feeling uninspired. I should clean house, too, but I'm not feeling too inspired for that either. The gravitational pull of my couch seems very strong indeed.

I found my nice German-made wooden recorder last summer when I was cleaning out my Mom's house. It's still there, nice and safe. I was surprised to discover that I still knew a few melodies...

I used to have one of those white plastic Yamaha recorders. Very nice instruments.

Ah, but I gave her the newer model, the black Rottenburgh with the white "simulated ivory" rings. The Von Huene people in Brookline designed the molds that they use to make it.

Just what we need. Hoity-toity plastic recorders.
