Okay, some background. I have really wonky feet. I have bunions, and curled toes (hammertoes? clawtoes? Something like that). And before you ask, no, it's not because I've worn too many pointy-toed shoes; my feet came that way. (I love both my grandmothers dearly, but I seem to have inherited the worst of each one's feet.)

Now, most of the time, the bunions don't cause me too much bother, except that they make finding shoes that fit a challenge. (Wide feet and all that.) I do tend to... er, pronate means your feet rotate inward, right? The opposite of that. But that's about it. Once in a while they hurt, but not so much as to be bothersome.

Until recently. A couple of months ago, I tripped while going down some stairs and fell down the last couple of stairs. I didn't seem to hurt anything; no bruises, and didn't twist an ankle or anything. But ever since then, my left bunion has been prone to complain. It doesn't seem to matter which shoes I wear; it reacts more when I've been walking around or something else that makes me bend the foot, but sometimes it twinges when I'm not doing anything.

What the heck could I have done to it?? I was wearing sandals at the time I fell, for whatever difference that might have made.
