OMG! That was frickin' AWESOME!!! Thanks for pointing that out.

Once in college we had a campus-corner preacher railing against gays, and out of the gathered crowd a gay guy came up to him and very calmly, politely, tried to debate that God, in fact, does NOT hate queers and want them all to get AIDS. I don't recall what exactly the preacher's response was, but I had this moment of clarity that you have to fight hate with love, so I got up and went to hug the gay guy--whom I'd never seen before. He welcomed my hug and hugged me back. The preacher was horrified because now I had Gay Cooties or something. So, I turned to give him a hug as well, to show no-hard-feelings. The preacher RAN from me and my cooties...so what could I do? Determined to hug him, I chased him around in circles, to the uproarious laughter of the crowd.

Good times, good times.

From the way both preacher ladies used the same catchphrase, it sounds like they were freshly programmed and deployed into the subways.

Of course, I should mention that my brother used to torture me with insipid show tunes on long car trips...
