Sure, it's one thing for the Red Sox to be in a position to make the World Series when the Cubs graciously took themselves out of the running, helping to conserve the pool of luck and good karma for other needy teams. But in the few days since you guys were down 3-0, the Dow has fallen 5%, the weather has continued to get weirder and more violent in the Southeast, a plane has gone down in Missouri, and Bush has pulled ahead in the polls. It's like your baseball team is sucking up all the positive energy available and spitting back out chaos and confusion. Don't you think there are other things we could be using that good luck for?

it's funny, my wife has been wondering similar things (about the baby being born). looks like that won't happen during the yanks-sox series, but can you imagine a less soothing and relaxing experience than watching sox-yankees baseball?!
