The ups and downs.

Up: Working at home.
Down: Too much work to get done this week.
Up: The purple suede jeans arrived, and they pretty much fit.
Down: I still need more clothes.
Up: I have an interview next week for a long-term contract job.
Down: My mother got laid off. (She was expecting it, and is ok with it, but still.)

At last, some good news.

In a time when so many things seem to be going so wrong, at least one thing has gone right for one girl and her family.

They found Elizabeth Smart, the Salt Lake City girl who was kidnapped last year.

They found her alive.

I am astonished. I would never have expected her to be found alive after this long.

And yes, I know it's only one case out of many, and, and, and.... but it's nice to see one happy ending at least.
