What was that story?

Something pernishus wrote recently made me suddenly flash on a memory of some story I read (or, I suppose, something I saw or heard) in childhood. It's hovering just outside my ability to remember it.

In it, someone finds (is given?) a bunch of childhood items that s/he had thought lost. Things that disappeared over time, but were loved in their day. I want to say it was being in a specific place that made this possible.

Suddenly I'm wanting to say it was Lizard Music. I can just almost bring the scene to mind, but it keeps slipping away!

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

I've been offered a spot in the ensemble for Anything Goes!

Someday, I'd like a lead again. But this Broadway stuff is still new territory for me, so ensemble will be just fine.

Gotta go buy tap shoes...
