Kitchen day.
Dec. 5th, 2004 07:23 pmSlept way later than I would have planned this morning, but I guess I must've needed it. Then made myself real oatmeal -- the steel-cut kind that takes a half hour to cook. And I made a pot of black bean soup from the Women's Bean Project, which should feed me for the week, and some pasta and turkey meatballs for dinner. And my first batch of potica for the season, too. Now I have the minimum required: one loaf for my family on Christmas morning and one loaf for my best friend L, who would do me serious bodily harm if I didn't make it for her. :) I also ground enough walnuts for a second batch to be made later.
So it was quite a kitchen day. I'm pondering making a batch of cookies, or maybe I'll just poke through recipes and decide on ones to do later. And I'm watching the original 1957 version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella on PBS. I should wrap some packages or something, too.
