Reality? No, thanks.
Jul. 11th, 2005 11:45 amMemo to self: No more redeyes home from Con, at least not without taking the day off.
Con was great, as always. Random snippets:
- Billboard spotted on the way in from the airport: "Learn to Public Speak."
- Seeing the Warner Bros. studio was a lot of fun, even for someone like me who's really not much of a TV/movie geek.
- A hallway full of people attempting to communicate by making bird noises is both very silly and very loud.
- The Getty Center is quite the place -- more memorable for itself and its views in some ways than for the art.
- I got an unexpectedly large kick out of seeing Kermit the Frog's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
- I was apparently channeling Qaqaq on Saturday afternoon, given how fast I solved his puzzle. This rather frightens me.
- I only got to play two of the four Jeopardy games I didn't help write. Favorite moments were definitely ( Spoilers, if Cramerica ever runs it again )
-
thedan and
heaneyland do great puzzle songs.
- These are my people.
- It's possible for two people who disagree on some very fundamental issues to nonetheless remain good friends for 20 years. (I got together with a dear friend from high school on Sunday afternoon. We drove down Sunset Boulevard and then sat on the beach and talked, just the two of us, in a way we haven't had the chance to do in years.)
-
cazique's son is utterly adorable.
Coming back to reality is so hard. Never mind the sleep deprivation and jet lag, though those are part of it; it's hard to return to a job that bores me and all the humdrum of normal life.
