Weekend update, and silly meme.

Kind of a blah weekend, except for dinner with W & L and their sons J (almost 5) and S (just a year old). Charming kids; J is a budding puzzler who apparently does 150-piece jigsaws and who I watched do a criss-cross in a "my first puzzle book" with only a little help in reading directions. He also took my hand unprompted as we were walking along after dinner. S let me hold him for a while, and smiled at me a lot. Anyone have recommendations for Christmas presents?

Cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom and decluttered the dining room table. Living room still needs some help before Mom visits. My bedroom, I think, will go into the "close the door and she won't see it" category.

My dad gave me a Crate & Barrel gift card for my birthday, so Thursday night I went shopping and got myself an ice cream maker, a waffle iron, and a cozy brown throw to keep on the couch. The last came in handy yesterday morning, when I got up to see snow outside and discover that my heat was out. (It came back on by early afternoon.) I tried the waffle iron -- yum! I haven't tried the ice cream maker yet, because the bowl for it took a lot longer to freeze than I expected. Maybe tonight.

Going to be a busy week; my last week at this job, getting ready for Mom to come, and various other things I need to do. I should have done more over the weekend, but I had trouble getting myself motivated to do much at all.
