Oogh. And Halloween.
Nov. 1st, 2006 09:00 amYou know, if I'm going to feel hungover in the morning, I'd at least like to have had the pleasure of being drunk the night before. I woke up this morning with a headache and clogged sinuses and general feeling of blech. This is of course partly because I was up rather too late last night, but it was for a good cause: hanging out with
ringrose et al in costume and handing out candy to his neighborhood kids. His chain mail and other armor and the Big-Ass Sword he borrowed got lots of comments. My gypsy outfit was rather tame by comparison! A lot of the kids asked him if the sword was real, or the armor was real. Some came up and poked the chainmail. It was cute.
Most original costume of the night was the kid who was a Soup Ninja. (Is this some reference I don't know, or just randomness?) He had an incredible Japanese-style helmet made out of soup cans, a Campbell's-logo mask, and the topper: bracers (armbands) made from soup cans with bent spoons attached. His father was impressed when I called them "bracers."
There were a number of very cute small kids in animal costumes, too.
