Intercon recap.
Mar. 4th, 2007 05:04 pmSo, went to Intercon Friday night and yesterday. (For those who don't know, Intercon is a LARP convention. It's a series of 3-6 hour one-off LARPs, with a wide range of genres and styles.) Had a lot of fun this year; none of my games were bad, and several were a lot of fun.
The following are potentially spoilerish for the games "Elanthia," "The Wreckers," "Fire on High," and "Orgia ad Domus Lomaximus," should you think you're ever going to play one of these. The second and last of these have particularly big spoilers.
( A masquerade. )
( A New England fishing village. )
( A very silly spaceship. )
( And a Roman orgy. )
I went 4-for-4 in having my characters ending the game united or reunited with their True Loves. I figure that's a win. :) I like sappy romantic plot sometimes.
One of the amusing things about Intercon is, because the games are of so many styles, you see people in a staggering range of costumes. It's remarkably entertaining to wander around a lobby seeing someone in a toga (and particularly a man who looked much like
yandros, but possibly even taller, in a purple toga and a gold laurel wreath) conversing with someone in a top hat and tails while someone in a lion costume is waiting in line for food with a spaceship captain and an elf.
