I. Hate. Spyware.
Nov. 14th, 2007 08:48 pmGot my computer spywared. Trying to fix it, running an anti-spyware program, computer crashed hard. IE won't even open anymore. I do seem to have gotten rid of at least some of the bad stuff, but I think there's still more around.
Never thought I'd say thank goodness for AOL, but I'm glad my computer had an AOL browser installed. I was able to get that open and download Firefox, which I'm now using instead of IE. (Which isn't a bad thing, anyway. But ugh.)
If someone with a clue about these things wanted to take my computer and see if you can clean it out properly, I would be very appreciative. Appreciative in the form of food, or favors, or, you know, whatever we can negotiate. :)
Lousy evening chez Saxikath. Lots of tension in the jaw... think it's time for a hot bath and an early bed.
(ETA: I think I may have gotten rid of the junk, or at least more of it than I had before. IE's still screwed up, but Firefox works, and I'm not seeing mystery icons in my tray anymore. So I think major crisis finally averted. The offer of food or favors for a checkup still applies, though. :) )
