I've just heard that Sheldon Brown, known to various of my friendslist for his G&S, Revels, and/or bicycling activities, passed away yesterday from what is apparently a heart attack.
An obituary is here.
He had, as
greenlily says, two voice settings: loud and louder -- and yet he took such pleasure in performing that it was hard to get too annoyed with him. I think I'll remember him most as the MC in the melodrama-styled production of Ruddigore at MIT in 1997, and as one of the Peers in the '99 Iolanthe.
And, behind a camera. He took some of the best stage photos I ever saw. (Such as these, from the 2001 MITG&SP Pinafore.)
He'll be missed.
