Training survived.
Apr. 8th, 2008 07:05 pmMade it through two days of software training. Oof. Trainer had a tendency to let people get too far off on tangents or spend too much time on little things that we're unlikely to use much, and not enough time on the stuff we actually do need to use, but at least it's done now.
Prophecy over the weekend: yay, mostly. Though if you'd asked me Saturday night, there would have been less yaying. I'm finding it hard to really get hooked into things; I can be useful during big battles, but it's proving more difficult to get integrated into the plots that are going on. This isn't anyone's fault, at all, so much as it is an artifact of two things: first, coming into the campaign halfway through, when people have established themselves and their groups and their projects; and second, the fact that I built my character as a generalist. There's little she does that gives her an immediate niche, and there's nothing she does that someone else in game doesn't also do and, probably, do better.
olivine_sidhe and
setanos and
warriorbard63 are really good about inviting me along when they can, and it was AWESOME BEYOND BELIEF to finally get to play with
tenwii again, but much of Saturday felt kind of empty and disconnected. I was also feeling the short sleep Friday night more than usual, which I suspect kept me from having the energy to be more proactive.
And I damn near missed the one plot/group I have gotten hooked into. Fortunately, the staffer (Liz) who was leading the group I was coming back with came up with a very nice in-game save to catch me up to the group that was leaving, so I didn't miss it. That was during the couple of hours of Saturday that were very busy in the middle of the quiet times.
Sunday was very good, with
tenwii and Thom time (and the prospect of learning something not everyone has access to) and Watersong. And I got to sing, which is always good. And spend time in the woods.
Oh, and I happened to have my scrounging item be something important that people had been looking for. That was fun. :)
So, yay, overall. I have some ideas for ways to try to get more integrated into things next time, I think.
