This weekend's LARP lesson:
Jun. 9th, 2008 08:33 amSometimes good triumphs because it's 90 degrees out and evil has to wear latex masks and heavy makeup. :)
Damn, that was hot. Hottest LARP weekend I think I've ever had. But, they actually let us in the lake, which made things more tolerable. Ending an event with a beach party is kinda nice. And it wasn't even interrupted by Doom.
Random highlights:
And, in other news, I have my dress for the wedding. Maybe a little too big, but better that than too tight, and it will do just fine. Whew. (I had to abandon Legends cleanup early to go get it, which made me feel bad, but there's only so much I can do in one weekend!)

Random highlights:
- Joseph's exit. I knew from things
ringrose had said that something was likely to happen... but not then and not that way. Well played. The tears were real.
ringrose, I don't think you have to worry that there won't be Joseph stories. There's a younger generation of Legends players who only know you in that role, and you had an impact beyond, I think, what you know.
- Finding out that my horribly-twisted-into-a-really-scary-undead ancestor messed with the greenies' groves. (Probably. There's a little ambiguity, but I think I believe it.) Primarily in order to mess with my friends' power base before he comes after me. Oh, goody. (What exactly his goal is, and what his plans are for me, I don't know. But I know I don't like them.)
- Helping the Captain recover bits of his boat. In the list of things I never expected to do at a LARP, actually paddling a rowboat around the lake is certainly one of them. (We ended up paddling more like a canoe, because we were having trouble getting the oars to behave in the oarlocks.)
- The return of the fire circle. Yay, sitting around eating and drinking and singing together!
- We think we actually fixed the major killing-the-world problem. In a fairly low-key way, in the end; a lot of work went into getting there, but the fixing itself was pretty quiet. We don't know for sure that it worked yet, but signs are good.
- Beating up on fiends and dark elves. Always satisfying. :)
- Finding out that people had made an extremely generous offer to help me with a problem. I don't know if it will ever come to pass, for various reasons, but the offer floored me. (As
ringrose said, for ToV people, think Jasper reacting to his box.)
