  • Emotional roller coaster + houseguests + family + driving + memorial service + coughing fit to bust a lung for five days = one tired saxikath.
  • I have an amazing family. It was good to see everyone, even in sad circumstances. And the stories shared about my grandfather were wonderful.
  • I like my grandfather's advice, as quoted at the memorial service: "When in doubt, do both." And also "In a crisis, first do nothing. Perhaps things will take care of themselves. This does not apply to flat tires."
  • I am really, really tired of coughing. Stupid chest cold. Or bronchitis. Or whatever the hell it is. I'm at the point where my chest muscles are getting sore/tired.
  • It's hard to concentrate on work today.
  • It's a good thing I don't have rehearsals this week. (See aforementioned coughing. I don't think my chest voice is working very well.)
  • It was lovely weather in NH. Spring might actually be coming.
  • Of course, they're forecasting snow again tonight. Sigh.
  • Enigma. Aiee.
  • I'm trying to assemble a list of splurgelets -- small ways to treat myself. Things like buying a bottle of something nifty from the Body Shop, or getting a manicure, or buying new makeup -- nothing huge, just small treats. I'm looking for suggestions. So, it's a poll:

[Poll #460117]

  • I want a nap.
  • I think I ran out of things to say.

I had a cold a few years back where I coughed so hard, I pulled the little capillary muscles surrounding the lungs. That is seriously painful. It took about a month to fully recover. So be careful!

Tried to answer your poll twice, but it caught me... sigh. Of course, we with poor impulse control and bad habits have m ore than one recommendation! Goodies from Lush are nice -- good hair stuff that keeps smelling wonderful for a few days...

Or a new DVD... so you can knit with that splurged-on yarn during a rehearsal-free evening...

Glad your family was wonderful, despite circumstances. Ironic that one wants to enjoy the excellent company when the occasion for assembling said company sucks so much.

this may sound obvious and dumb but ...

I write down 5 things I really, really enjoy doing but just never have time for.

And I make the time to do at least one of them.
