I think, actually, that it has to do with your internal editor (and not the one that works on texts :-) In your real-life persona, you spend more of your energy weighing the consequences of whatever you might do or say -- because it's your real self on the line. Part of the freedom of role-playing is that you know that and (b) the worst you can do is screw up the *game*... so naturally you take more chances. In ways that feel empowering when they work. Which perhaps will energize you for taking more of those kinds of risks when they do appear in real life.
