Sappy movies

So, earlier tonight, I watched (well, mostly listened to; I was in the kitchen for a lot of it) The Muppet Christmas Carol. It's not the best Muppet movie, nor is it the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol -- but for some reason it always gets me. I don't know what it is. The songs get to me (both happy and sad ones), it makes me laugh in places, and it makes me get teary-eyed, too. Especially Bob Cratchit's grief over Tiny Tim as expressed by that most expressive of puppets, Kermit.
Of course, it also features the wonderful Michael Caine saying lines I'm sure he never dreamed he'd run into in his acting career. "Why, it's Fozziwig's old rubber chicken factory!"
