I spent last week being asked, "So who are you rooting for?" and not being able to answer.

Given how I feel this morning, I think in my heart I must have been rooting for the Rockies. I still love the Red Sox, but part of me was clearly hoping the Colorado kids would pull off an upset.

I think I'm mostly disappointed that the series wasn't longer. Sweeps aren't as interesting, especially when I like both teams.

Anyway, yay Sox nation, and Rockies, you put on one hell of a run. And there's plenty of talent there to last a long time. As we said here in New England for so many years... just wait till next year!

The Sox aren't anybody's underdog any more. When they had the curse, they had something to strive against. Now, they run the risk of becoming the next Yankees (or more locally for me, Braves). There'll be that whole Schadenfreude thing going every time the big behemoth team goes down, and an "eh" reaction when they win yet again.

They need a few seasons of not quite getting to the playoffs, or getting there and losing, to recover their likability factor. Combined of course with continuing to be an awesome team in the non-scoreboard-related capacity.
