In other news, having heard nothing, I'm assuming no callback for Winter's Tale. Not surprising, given the small number of women's parts and the number of people who are both better actresses and more in with the group than I, but still, it's always disappointing. I was proud of my monologue, though.

Not being called back does not necessarily mean not being cast -- sometimes they really have seen all they need to in the auditions. In any case, I'm not called back either, but I'm still holding out hope. (And being more in with the group really does count for very little. We tend to pretty consistently cast about half and half new vs returning people, and try very hard not to show favoritism unless it's a real dead tie between two performers.)

agreed - when i cast my one act last year, there were people i definitely *knew* i wanted to cast even without seeing them come back a 2nd time!

Oh, I know, I just never have that much confidence in my own abilities. :) I'm trying to get into director's heads, and that's never wise, I know. Doesn't stop me from doing it anyway!

Fortunately, our own expectations about whether or not we'll be cast don't affect the actual casting. :-)
