While I would certainly not recommend
Anxiety as diet aid, I'll say
It's worked for me. The jeans of purple suede
I bought last month? They're already too big.
I hope this is the start of getting slim
(Well, slimmer; I'm not built to be a stick,
Unlike my brother, who's the toothpick type).
I'm motivated to keep up the work
I'm doing at the gym, since some results
Are showing (well, at least they are to me).

In other news, I'm in New Hampshire now,
At work inside the office for the day.
(The afternoon, at least.) While the commute
Is tedious, a change of scene is nice.
I have to do more science tests tonight,
Which means I'll have to miss moo's Micetro (sigh)
As well as boffer practice. Stupid work!
Oh well, the money's good. I shouldn't gripe.

I know for me it's easy (as a male)
to say this, but I wish you wouldn't sweat
about the weight. As long as you can get
the exercise you need, and just as long
as you are eating healthy stuff, you'll be
the size and form your body wants to be.
To fight against it only leads to stress
and yo-yoing, which can't be good for you.

I as well will miss the combat practice
Tonight. Though I suppose I am needed
To project the movie for LSC,
How will I ever get any practice
With my spiffy new mad florentine skillz?

Anxiety is not the place to be,
dear heart -- but while you're there, it's not so hard
to find the shedding of a couple pounds
("in moderation", mind, and with good health!)
a side effect that's of some benefit,
a silver lining, maybe, to that cloud.
The gym is almost always beneficial,
not only physically, but mentally,
as (so I hear) it helps to manage mood.
-- But, eep! Out-shrunk the purple jeans already!? :-)

Really, any day works for me, since I'm
Free in the evenings, just not tonight, since
I'm projecting Two Towers for LSC.
(Gah! All these iambs take me back to last
Summer's UROP and vowel-splicing and such...)
