  • What the heck bit me yesterday? There's a welt on my arm with a red area that's a good 3 inches long. Warm to the touch, and itchy, too.
  • The Musical Improv Company is playing ImprovBoston on Saturdays at 6 from now through October. These guys are amazing. They improvise an entire 2-act Broadway-style musical. Everyone should go at some point! Who wants to come with me tomorrow? (Thanks to moo for the tip.)
  • I'm going bed-shopping this weekend. This will be my first brand-new bed that isn't a futon since I was a kid. I'm excited by the prospect of a bed with a new mattress (no grooves or broken springs), a new box spring (no tears), and a new frame (no slats that fall out). Think I'm going to upgrade from a full to a queen, which of course means I have to buy all new bedding as well. Suggestions welcome. :)
  • One of my coworkers just referred to Goedel's Incompleteness Theorem. I have cool coworkers.
  • I am having a lot of trouble concentrating on work today. (Thus this entry.) I'm tired and have a lot of things I want/need to do, and it's a beautiful day, and I'm stuck in my cubicle trying to write about communicable diseases for fifth graders.
  • I think the Legends footwear problem may have been solved. I bought yet another pair of new boots, and, while I haven't worn them for a full day yet, I think they may be winners. Support in the sole, and wide enough in the toes. They're not period, but they're not too ugly, either.

And now I suppose I should really do some work.

Sounds like a spider bite. If you can stand it, put heat on it for while, 15 minutes to an hour. It will make the itching worse... but it will help circulation deal with the toxin. Then follow up with cold to numb the itching, and antihistamines if you wish.

Have fun shopping for bed and bedding-- I'm jealous!

My absolute favorite kind of mattress on earth is latex foam rubber. It's expensive but doesn't need a box spring so the money probably evens out. Most stores don't carry it it but the mattress store across the street from the Cambridgeside galleria does. Email me if you wanna come over and test mine.
