Drool...

I've realized that since [livejournal.com profile] tahnan took the bookcase that had held reference books with him when he moved (as he should, given that it was, you know, his), I'm once again in the more-books-than-bookcases phase. I also have various reference books that I need to refer to a lot while working on The Enigma.

So I'm drooling over this. Sigh. So pricey, yet so perfect...

Mmmm. Levenger is one dangerous catalogue.

Always buy bookshelves. Always. They are more important than clothes or food.

Making them is surprisingly easy, actually; that's another way to go. Not tiny and round and nifty, though. I'd have no idea how to do that.

If you decide to buy but less pretty and less expensive, the True Value in Central Square has lots of unfinished pine stuff that's quite sturdy.

Now that's nifty. Levenger though, so naturally gawdawful expensive. Let's see, one base, two bookshelves, and the dictionary stand...carry the 3...ACK! Nearly $600!

I associate Levenger with overpaid executives who a) want to show off how filthy rich they are and b) think they look more intelligent when surrounded by books and their impedimenta, whether or not they actually have opened one lately.

Okay, that's like the hot sex of bookshelves. Can you imagine just how beautifully a Van Nostrand's would go on the stand? Or an OED?

*sigh*
