Random personal observation.
May. 11th, 2004 10:41 amWhen I am with someone else who is stressing over something, I am very good at being calmly practical.
When I am stressing over something, I am almost incapable of being calmly practical.
I'm not sure why this should be.
On a totally unrelated note, a coworker and I just signed up to do Urban Challenge here in Boston in June. I'm nowhere near in the kind of shape I should be to do it, but I think it'll be fun nonetheless. And it'll motivate me to get to the gym more often.
So who's available to be a phone-a-friend on June 19? :)

I'd guess because a stressing person is all pumped up with stress hormones, which seriously impair one's ability to be calmly practical! When you're the outside person, you don't have the cortisol etc freakin' out your brain.
