Can I hang onto this mood?
Aug. 20th, 2004 08:18 amThe morning didn't start out great; I was up too late watching Olympics and working on the Enigma, so I crawled out of bed and headed for the bus, having forgotten my lunch and my cell phone.
But then I got to the rental car place, and had no hassles at all getting the car. And then traffic was smooth getting to work. And then, wonder of all wonders, I found a parking spot just as someone was pulling out! (Bear in mind, every other time I've ever driven to work, I've had to circle for at least a half hour to find a spot, and often I've had to settle for a 2-hour spot and had to either move the car later or get a ticket.)
And tonight I get to drive out to Legends. I like the drive, once Pike traffic loosens up, and I have good company for the ride, and Legends is at the other end of it. Even with the weirdnesses going on with Legends (small game, people leaving), I'm still really looking forward to it. If nothing else (and there will be something else), it's an excuse to spend the weekend out in the woods, which is always good for me.
And the jeans I wore yesterday, which were uncomfortably tight the last time I wore them, weren't yesterday.
And I'm learning to tap dance.
Of course, I have to get through a day of fixing correlations before I can leave (though I am planning to leave early). I foresee lots of music today, to try to preserve this happy, expectant mood as much as I can.
