More things I've done.
Feb. 24th, 2005 02:07 pmI find myself fascinated by this whole "10 things I've done that I don't think you have" meme. Thinking about my own list, and reading other people's lists, have led to some great stories and to thinking about some great memories that hadn't come to mind in a long time.
So here are a few more things I've done. Some involved people on my friends list, so they don't really count as "I've done this and you haven't," but I think they still sort of fit the spirit of things. This is mostly for my own benefit, to remind myself that I have done interesting things in my life, and things that are worth remembering, even though it doesn't always feel that way these days.

- Walked through the streets of the old Moorish quarter of Granada while being followed by a large dog.
- Attended classes at a German high school.
- Given my first boyfriend Gouda cheese for Valentine's Day. (Hey, he said he liked it!)
- Gone horseback riding in Grand Teton National Park.
- Eaten hot and sour soup in a campground in Grand Teton National Park. (After the aforementioned horseback ride. Yay for my dad.)
- Helped make a dragon out of cardboard covered with green florist's foil. (It actually looked really good when we were done.)
- Spent ninth grade attending junior high in the morning and high school in the afternoon.
- Sung the national anthem at a Red Sox game at Fenway Park (with
dotknocker and the rest of the church choir). - Helped demolish a semi trailer. (With some people on my friends list.)
- Run a planetarium console.

Date: 2005-02-24 09:01 pm (UTC)I did that a bit when I was on my high school trip... We were there during our summer vacation, though, so we weren't really required to go to classes...

That reminds me that Binghamton Summer Savoyards, or at least the men's chorus, have an inexplicable ongoing inside joke involving Gouda...

In 8th grade I would go to the high school for German II, which was shortly after lunchtime... I would get to Algebra late every day, but this didn't really cause a problem... Later, in 11th grade, I basically had the afternoons off (though I had AP Biology right after lunch) because I was taking college courses--but I was taking "Individualized" German, which meant I went in every few weeks to take tests or quizzes and have conversation practice... Actually, in the winter in spring I was taking Individualized French, which was basically the same deal. Life was good. (well, mostly)
