The IgNobel Prizes (long, but lj-cut)

Sanders Theater at Harvard is a gorgeous space. It seats, oh, 1100 or so, and it's all wood and Victorianness... beautiful place. I've been there for performances and lectures and whatnot, though I never took any of the classes at Harvard that are big enough to need to meet there.

But I've never seen the stage floor covered with paper airplanes, and the audience full of people in silly hats.

Until last night, that is.

Friday five, what the heck.

Having an impossible day at work, which is going to turn into a weekend of work, so what the hey.

1. What size shoe do you wear? Generally an 8.5, and as wide as possible. Except for my character shoes, which are for some reason size 10M.

2. How many pairs of shoes do you own? Er. Um. Let's see. One pair of sandals. One pair of sneakers. Three pairs of Naturalizer pumps (black, taupe, and white). One pair of navy blue flats. One pair of black flats I don't wear because they hurt my feet. One pair of low brown leather boots. One pair of black winter boots. One pair of strappy black high-heeled sandals, aka the killer shoes. One pair of black high-heeled shoes I haven't worn in years, if I even still have them. One pair of hiking boots, if they're still around. One pair of black character shoes. Two pairs of ballet shoes (black and pink). One pair of black jazz dance shoes. And one pair of warm cozy slippers. So that makes... 17. Eep.

3. What type of shoe do you prefer (boots, sneakers, pumps, etc.)? Whenever possible, none. :) Otherwise, sandals or low boots. Though I do like how much like a dancer the character shoes make me feel.

Describe your favorite pair of shoes. Why are they your favorite? Hmm. Well, I like the killer shoes for when I want to look snazzy, except that I can't walk anywhere in them. For comfort and style, the brown leather boots.

5. What's the most you've spent on one pair of shoes? Not sure... $80 maybe? I generally can't buy cheap shoes because they won't be wide enough and will make my feet hurt. (Witness the aforementioned black flats, which came from Payless for $10 but turned out to be too painful to wear.)

And if anybody wanted to buy me shoes, I'd happily take these, in 8.5 extra wide, brown. :)
