This is really quite annoying. Though the more I look at my hand, the more I suspect this is the result of a bite or sting rather than a tendon or ligament or whatever injury; the area is red in a way I associate with allergic reactions, and warm to the touch -- and a little itchy now, though there's a mosquito bite not far away that may be confusing matters. I may even have found what could be the puncture mark. It would also explain how I was totally fine when I went to bed and woke up with it sore.

Still, I look forward to it calming down. It's an annoying place to have been gotten!

(I'm sure this is all just so fascinating to the rest of you...)

Not any less fascinating than dented, mismatched venetian blinds!

Sounds like the hand will just heal with time.

Fascinating

It's important to some of us. ;) Hope the itching goes away and it feels better soon babe!

Little do you know it was all an evil plan she personally concocted to torture you. ;)

You and Sheeyun are soulmates. He got a Great Bit Bitten on Friday at a company golf tournament. Right forearm and cheek. Looked fierce for a couple of days. :(

Were you out in the woods? Could it have been a tick?

May be too late for this, but if it's a sting, you might go the route of meat tenderizer (add a little water, mash it up in a paste). As for the itching, hydrocortizone (anything above 1% concentration).

I'd get some calomine lotion and coat it with that. The worst thing that will happen is you turn your hand pink. And it might help. :) Red and warm sounds like a bite to me.
