"You haven't heard of them?" came a voice from somewhere just behind the brunette's head. "They're playing over at
jadelennox this weekend." The voice came from a rather large woman with improbably red hair, wearing a crisp white cotton shirt, black capri pants, and black heeled sandals that revealed toenails painted bright turquoise. She gestured at the paper with the coffee cup she held. "
bookishfellow is the lead singer. I've heard they're pretty good."
"I wouldn't know," murmured the brunette, idly folding the flyer and tucking it under the edge of her saucer. "That's not really my scene. I'd rather listen to
davehogg or
dcltdw, frankly."
Without being invited, the redhead plopped herself down on an empty chair at the table. "Well, to each her own, I suppose," she said, thunking her cup down onto the table. As she did, the coffee sloshed over the side, spilling onto the flyer and over the odd dice the man had left behind. "How clumsy!" she muttered as she reached for a napkin to mop up the mess.
