Headphones. Must remember headphones for new office. Need music.

Realized I don't have any good way to listen to music on the plane, either, except whatever weird stuff they offer. My old CD player is pretty well toast, and I wonder if it's worth replacing it, or if I should just save for an MP3 player of some sort instead. But I won't have that before Thursday, so maybe I should get a cheap CD player so I have something for the phone. (Edited to add: Plane. Not phone, plane. Frazzled? Who's frazzled?)

I should be grateful that my dilemmas are this trivial.

Well, if you're taking your new laptop, you can use it as an mp3 player while you're on the plane. Scan in whatever CDs you want to take into the music program of your choice, and listen to them on the way.

MP3-capable CD players are cheap (like, under $20) these days. That's what I use for this kind of thing. You could borrow mine if you want, but it might be a good solution for more than just the plane.

I still say find an iPod somewheres. Lots of music, no CDs. If you don;t want to buy one, maybe you can borrow someone else's: erase it, load it up with whatever you want, then they can restore it once you give it back.

If you can deal with no display and only two ways to listen to music (shuffled, or in the original order), you can buy a refurbed iPod shuffle direct from Apple for $79. Or, for $179, get a used iPod mini from Small Dog (great company, plus my favorite iPod model).
