Things I have:

  • A cracked heel. Ow.
  • Page proofs to review.
  • A Patience chorus that did a fine job with "In a doleful train/Now is not this ridiculous" last night.
  • Most of my Intercon costuming figured out.
  • A messy house.
  • Fabric for sewing several nifty things.

Things I need:

  • A lot of sleep. I haven't had any particularly short nights, but the cumulative effect of lots of slightly-short nights is getting to me more than it used to.
  • Another tenor for the chorus.
  • To refill a prescription.
  • To send in my Stamford registration.
  • To finish the March Enigma.
  • A haircut.
  • To get in better shape. I'm not getting much of any exercise these days, except waving my arms around in front of singers.
  • To clean house.
  • To do my taxes.
  • To memorize my songs for "'Tis No Deceit..."

Things I want:

  • Time to sew.
  • Someone to give me a full-fledged makeover.
  • Pretty clothes.
  • Black suitable-for-work shoes that don't make as much noise as my flats. And tall boots.
  • A nap.
  • More coffee.

Things I don't like today:

  • My feet. They're lumpy and get sore and make it hard to get neat shoes. And they dry out and crack.
  • The state of the world in general.
  • Crowded subway cars.

Things I like today:

  • My eyes, even when they're tired.
  • Starburst jelly beans.
  • The view of Boston coming across the river on the Red Line.
  • Singers who learn their music quickly and well.

I have to say, I like this posting format.

My current comfy black work shoes (aside from snow boots) are men's Born loafers. I want Danskos next though.

Just Curious...

Kath, have you tried using Bag Balm on your feet? My elbows get super dry. I received some as a Christmas present and whoa does it take care of things. It's made in Vermont, and orginally for cow udders - milking is sore business I guess. Anyway, thought I'd pass on the tip. If you can't find any by you, Amazon.com sells the stuff. It works miracles.

Bag Balm is not for everyone. It inflamed my hands.

I recommend Weleda Skin Food. I get it at Fresh Pond Whole Foods.

Geez when I first read "To send in my Stamford registration" and "To finish the March Enigma," my mind smooshed it together as "To send in my Enigma resignation." (!)

My staples are CamoCare Soothing Cream--works great on all skin irritations, cracks and pimples--and Weleda Skin Food, a super moisturizer. They are not cheap, but worth it.

Poor baby! :(

I don't think I've actually ever had *that* happen, but my feet definitely require quite a lot of buttering these days.

Burt's Bees foot lotion works well, but smells something fierce. I'm finding that my regular body lotion from Bath and Body Works works jsut fine, and it's much pleasanter.
