The good: I don't need surgery, and I'm out of the immobilizer, and I can put as much weight on my leg as I want. (Strained PCL and partial tear to the MCL; both will heal on their own.)
The not-so-good: I'm in a (hinged) knee brace for probably six weeks. It's a vast improvement on the immobilizer, but it's going to get annoying in a hurry, I expect. I think I will be able to go to the rest of the spring LARP season, though I may have to be out of combat -- we'll see how things go.

But, at least I can walk with something closer to a normal gait now. Stairs are still interesting, but more doable than with the immobilizer.

That's really good news. It would've been awful if you had to miss the LARPs. And, think of it this way, at least it's not ice/snow season!

Now you can hunt down that rude person on the subway at full speed! ;{)} Good for you. It seems to be a good season for knee healing.

Ooo, you can pretend you're Miles Vorkosigan! ;-)

I hope you heal completely soon. Glad you don't need surgery.

Ouch! I'm glad there's no need for surgery, though. Amusingly enough, I'm having knee problems of my own. Again. It's a flare-up of a 14-year-old MCL tear that's partially your fault. :)

Even more amusingly, it was my mention of that old knee injury (or, more specifically, the party at which that injury occured) in an LJ post that prompted [livejournal.com profile] clauclauclaudia to point me to your LJ. I've been meaning to try to track you down for ages, it seems -- but now I don't have to! How've you been?

Yay! Congrats... just don't overdo - you don't want to end up back in the immobilizer. I had to wear one for 2 months, and they suck.
