I hate adware.

I hate, even more, adware that makes my spyware-removing software freeze when trying to remove it.

Anyone know how to get "PurityScan" off my computer? Or, anyone know how to get Spyware Doctor to remove it without freezing?

Grumph.

I personally reccommend Lavasoft Ad-Aware (www.lavasoft.com) and Spybot Search & Destroy (www.safer-networking.org) for removing spyware. It also helps to boot into safe mode and run the cleaners from there (hit F8 on boot before the windows screen comes up). That should get pretty much anything you've got.
Spybot has the advantage of having a little tray program that prevents system settings from getting changed without your OK, which is handy as well.

I second the recommendation of these two apps. We use them on our public machines at the library, and they work very well.

Thanks for posting this -- the response gave me information I also needed, and allowed me to remove 15 (!) unwanted little beasties from my computer this morning.

I use Spyware Nuker, and am very pleased with it.
