I just posted the first issue of The Enigma under my editorship to the website, after sending it to the printer earlier this evening.

I hope people like it.

Gulp.

Eeep! Three cryptics? I wonder if there's even a chance now of filling those 50+ NovDec holes.

... but... but... I barely looked at NovDec yet! and I have this Star Wars thing to deal with!

(but I'm sure it's good anyway)

Dear god ALMIGHTY, woman, you call this thing an ENIGMA? This, this, this ERROR-RIDDEN piece of BAT GUANO isn't fit to be used as a welcome mat at a meeting of the local GRAPE-CRUSHERS union! I could write better puzzles than this in my SLEEP, to say NOTHING of how utterly...

Er. Sorry. That can't be right. I think I meant, "Hey, nice issue!"

Though I think it is somewhat harder than usual; I got slightly less than half of it on a first (refless) pass of the issue, whereas I usually get slightly more than half. There's nothing wrong with a somewhat harder issue; just a note. And, yeah, three cryptics, yikes. Thank heavens I've done the Uc cryptic already (I forget where I got a copy--he must've had it last year at Stamford). Not that it was easy.

Eep!

I must insist that you retract your release of the Enigma until I've slept more than 4 hours in a night. How rude! I slave over a little space opera, and you're just increasing my Nig backlog! The nerve of some people...

:) It looks awesome. Congratulations.
