2. I will tell you the origin of his/her/its name (if there is one)
3. I will tell you five random facts surrounding his/her/its creation (if I can think of them).
4. I will give you one random fact of his/her/its backstory.
5. I will give you one random fact of his/her/its forestory (if I can figure out what that is).
6. You may ask me up to ten questions about the character and maybe I'll answer them (but if a question is too spoiler-y I'll respond with gibberish or a patter song or something)
7. If you place this in your journal, I might return the favor.

2. The origin of his/her/its name (if there is one):
I poked around on various name sites for interesting Native American names. Taima (I added the apostrophe to clarify pronunciation) means "thunder," and Niabi means "fawn." (I think, in game, Ta'ima doesn't know what her first name properly means.... :) )
3. Five random facts surrounding his/her/its creation (if I can think of them):
a. I originally conceived of her as a caster, not a fighter. The bizarro day at Legends led me to change that.
b. I chose Elk and Storm more or less at random, before the regional packets were done. Couldn't really have made a better choice. :)
c. I decided to make her illiterate for reasons that now largely escape me, except that I thought it fit the character type. I think I might not do that another time. :)
d. I intentionally put in a big plot hook in her backstory. I never anticipated the creative ways it would get run with!
e. I didn't know how anyone else would be playing barbarians when I wrote her. I'm glad things worked out so well.
4. One random fact of his/her/its backstory:
Ta'ima was raised in a family of shaman-types. They were kind of confused by this rather more martial daughter they wound up with.
5. One random fact of his/her/its forestory (if I can figure out what that is):
(I'm assuming that the forestory is the current story.) Dude! We actually banished a Darkened! :)

Date: 2006-12-14 04:30 pm (UTC)The first name came from poking on Scottish name sites. I chose the last name because MacGilvernock is one of the septs of the Graham of Menteith clan, to which I also belong. (My grandmother was a Graham.)

a. I started by thinking about people I want to play with and tried to come up with a character who'd have reason to play with them.
b. I wanted a character who had a reason to wear the black leather bodice. :)
c. I waffled for a long time between seer and something sneaky as the second header.
d. I'm not sure why I've gone so thoroughly combatant with my characters lately. Except that beating people with foam weapons can be very cathartic. :)
e. I love her ridiculously poofy pants!

Her father's a merchant captain, and she used to travel with him occasionally, helping fight off pirates.

She's been dying way too much. But she did beat a fury almost single-handed.
