Another LARP season ends.
Oct. 29th, 2007 12:38 pm(For me, anyway. I know there's one more game of Prophecy, but I'll be out of town.)
Last Legends event of the season yesterday. And, as it turned out, last event at the site the game has been at since before I started playing. We're moving to a new camp come spring. I think that's probably a good thing; the existing camp, though it has some nice features, has a lot of issues as well.
For the first time in a while, I feel some hope for the game. It was a small turnout (maybe 15 or so players), but things went smoothly and were a lot of fun, something I haven't been able to say for the past few. I spent six hours or so on Saturday playing my old character, back from the dead as part of a yearly rite. It's an odd experience to be greeted by a character who came into game after my character died with, "Oh! Our local legend!" :) I had some good stuff for my current character, too.
The plot that's providing in-game rationale for the site move kept us all in a state of high tension. We knew a fight we couldn't win was coming. What were we going to do about it? In this case, we weren't worried (for once) about saving the world. We were trying to save ourselves. It's a bit of a different feel, and it was fun.
I am, however, so tired I'm in the state where I feel like I'm vibrating. (I can't really describe this feeling very well. It's not that I'm physically shaking, but I feel an odd sort of sensation as if I were vibrating very quickly. It comes and goes. Does anyone else feel that way when they're sleep-deprived?) Between a busy two-day business trip to Chicago, the LARPing, and baseball, I'm feeling severely underslept.

Basically the things which I looked at and said "problem here" are getting better. Combine that with the fresh start of a new settlement and a new camp, and there's serious potential for Legends to grow again.

Drinking gobs of water helps, I think, but that may be a red herring: if I haven't been sleeping enough, I'm probably also stupid enough to be dehydrated, too. :)

Date: 2007-10-29 06:49 pm (UTC)I get it when I'm on a LARPing (or performing high). Which can last for days. Which is generally a combination of high and EXHAUSTED!
