saxikath: (not broken)

The bad: I had to spend all day yesterday fighting spyware instead of doing other things.
The good: I seem to have, knock on wood, gotten rid of it all. And I cleaned the bathroom and tidied the kitchen while waiting for scans to run.
The good: I finally got a new bulb to replace the one in the overhead fluorescent fixture in my bathroom.
The bad: Standing on a chair does not give me enough height to have good leverage in putting the new bulb in.
The worse: While I was attempting to put the bulb in in said position of bad leverage, the bulb slipped out of my hand, fell, and broke.
Another bad: This morning, I dropped and broke the glass part of my French press coffeemaker.
The slightly good: Having broken the French press got me to get out the espresso machine I haven't used in ages and make a latte, which actually worked.

Can I have another weekend, please?

A few years ago, Nomi bought us a stepladder at a hardware store because I was wary of standing on chairs to change light bulbs. It's turned out to be one of the most useful purchases we ever made.

Paul keeps telling me to get a stepladder. The way this weekend is going, I'd be likely to fall off of it and crack my head open.

I'm with you; can we have another weekend, please?

Blah! I hate fluorescent lights! I think they should be illegal in residences.

Stupid glass!

Eh? All the lights in my house are flourescents. Granted, the majority are CFLs I put in myself three years ago.

But this is all to tide us over until the full-size LEDs are on the market anyway. Counting down the months... :)

I am sorry, I meant tube fluorescents, the kind that take an engineering degree and warping of at least three dimensions to change.

CFL are easy and helpful and I am all for those.

Cool. :)

I do have some tube fluorescents here though. There's one set in the kitchen and a shop light in the basement. Those were there when we moved in. Haven't replaced any tubes yet either.

Still, can't wait for the big LEDs...
