As you can tell, I'm much more about the traditional carols and such than I am about contemporary Christmas songs!

Thing is, I kinda like a fair bit of Christmas music. I do object to being subjected to bad versions of it, everywhere I go, from October 20th to January 5th every year. But some of it (of my own choosing, played at my own desire) is actually quite nice.

Yeah, that's fair, I suppose. And the serious religious music, as opposed to the insipid "Rudolph" and such, are genuinely moving, as Jon Carroll observed.
