My younger cousin wasn't even two years old when I started college. I can still see her as a curly-headed toddler doing her best to pull me into a room to introduce me to her neighbors, burbling, "It's Kafrin! It's Kafrin!"

Today, she graduates from Harvard.

Hard to believe. But good for you, Amelia.

Heh. My cousin Joanna's graduating from Harvard today too. Apart from me and my sibs, she's my grandma's only grandchild, and she's third-generation Harvard/Radcliffe (Grandma, Dad, and Dad's sister, Joanna's mom, all went), so this is a huge deal for the parent-and-grandparent generations of my family.

My big Joanna memory is that one night when I was nine I got sent to my room for fighting with my sibs at the dinner table. As I stomped up the stairs, I heard the phone ring. A minute later, my mom yelled for me to come back. I didn't, at first, because I thought I was being called back to endure further lecturing about not fighting. So she yelled that no, it's good news, my aunt was on the phone from Seattle and I was going to be a cousin. :)
