* too sick to make it yourself.

With this, it'd be
* not sick enough to need someone to bring you soup, and
* too sick to answer the door.

Of the two latter situations, you want the first set, not the second.

Or I've settled for egg drop soup, which really, REALLY did the trick when I was wickedmegatotallyfallonthefloorkillmenowsick some time ago.
Now I want soup.

I have come to the conclusion that the perfect soup when I am sick is the lemongrass chicken soup from Elephant Walk.

(I was {this} close to bringing you chicken soup today, but I need to clean the house before the inlaws arrive tomorrow.)

This is genius! I have frequently wanted this. Other available items should be smoothies and very spicy soups.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested they need to deliver chocolate too.

I mean, okay, it's not exactly what you need when you're *sick*, but for some people it seems to be pretty close.
