Setting aside for just a moment all questions of politics or qualifications or anything else: Barack Obama has to be one of the best political orators we've produced in a long time.

Bill Clinton on his best day was awfully good, but yeah, Obama is even in a class beyond that.

Isn't he good?
Of course, you could turn the sound off and just show his kids waving at him and still win votes. What a family.

The speech itself was rather conventional. The eloquence and charisma with which he delivered it were stunning.

When last you and I had any meaningful discourse, I was a stark-raving conservative.
Had I not already seen the light and become a moderate, Obama would have done the trick.
As it is, he'll definitely have me voting for a Democrat ticket WITHOUT wanting to take a shower afterwards for the first time, ever.
Heck, after hearing Bill Clinton's speech, I might actually become a Democrat by registration.
(Now, Bill *Richardson*, on the other hand... What the heck was he thinking tonight??!?)

Didn't you ever do anything stupid when you were young? :)

The wow wasn't meant to reflect on your judgment (past or present) but rather on Obama's influence.

Oh.
Yeah. I was just agreeing that he's a phenomenal orator amongst a group of people who were already pretty darned good to start with.
Except Bill Richardson. I'm still trying to sort out what I think of that one. Weird speech.
