I swear this respiratory bug (or series of bugs) has managed to throw every single trick at me. Sore throat? Check. Laryngitis? Check. Sinuses? Check. Cough of Doom? Check, check, check.

The latest? As of last evening, my left ear is badly blocked. To the point that it's messing with my hearing. There's this weird underwater effect, and all pitches sound flat through that ear. (Not to mention painful; I had to take Tylenol last night so I could sleep.) Sheesh. Waiting for the doctor's office to open so I can make an appointment.

Just a heads-up (and I know you don't want to hear this) -- you're describing precisely how I felt before my eardrum burst due to a lousy ear infection last fall. Bad news: pretty horrendously painful, and weeks of lousy hearing. Good news: apparently common and not dangerous. Good luck!
