Well.

Ruddigore is over. I have intentionally not said a whole lot about it beyond the occasional "come see it" or "you guys rock" or "damn, I'm tired," but it was a success, I think. I don't think I burned anyone out this time (which I did during Gondoliers), and I at least thought it sounded good. (Looked good, too, but I had less to do with that!) I'm now in the post-show mixed-feelings state, where I'm sad it's over but also very glad to have my life back.

Of course, having my life back means I have to do everything I've been putting off. Like moving furniture and doing the Enigma and cleaning house and figuring out Christmas presents and ...

One pressing issue: There's this thing I want to audition for. I need to send a headshot by Saturday. Most professionals couldn't possibly get it done and ready for me to have it sent in by Saturday, certainly not for a physical print.

Is there anyone out there who has a digital camera and a reasonable clue about photographing people who'd be willing to take some shots of me some evening this week that could at least pretend to be headshots? (I can submit the headshot electronically, if I have one.) I'd be willing to pay and/or barter my services (cooking, editing...) for the help.

Now I suppose I should actually do some work.

You may also want to check places that do passport photos. I don't know how good they come out, but the pictures tend to be ready quickly. Also, we have a digicam and I can probably talk Tim into taking picutres of you. I would, but I have the world's unsteadiest hands, so that's probably a bad idea. :)

My husband has done a couple of photoshoots for headshots for 3 people. They come out pretty well. We're down in Franklin. He might be able to make a trip to wherever you are. Email me (alaria_lyon@hotmail.com) if you're interested and I'll try to get you guys in touch.

The Picture People, in the Square One mall in Saugus (and elsewhere) can do it in an hour. And you can go shopping while you wait. That's where I've had mine done and I was quite pleased with how they turned out.

(And you didn't burn me out on Gondoliers.)

Were these shots black & white?

No, but I imagine they can do black and white.

My friend Stan is a programmer by day and a very talented photographer by night. He does portraits and other things, and they always turn out great. (G&S people will probably remember him for his Sweeney work). Anyway, his company recently hired him to do portraits of the company's managing board, so he probably has a clue how to do headshots. Anyway, visit his website and drop him a line. I have no idea how much he charges, but he's not a full-time photographer, so it can't be that bad.
